makes sense SM

Geist

"Es ist der Geist, der sich den Körper baut"
is a line of
"Wallensteins Tod" (Wallenstein's Death)
a Schiller play.

Ms. Nievergelt
(a pilates teacher in Zurich, Switzerland)
sent me the book:

Shiller's Tragedies:
The Piccolomini And The
Death of Wallenstein
Friedrich Shiller and S. T. Coleridge
ISBN 0548286949
www.kessinger.net

According to Ms. Nievergelt, these words are used on obituary notices; Wallenstein had a diseased body when saying these words (and Schiller was in poor health during his whole life anyway, so this sentence must have had an important philosophical aspect to him.)

The translation of the famous quote
associated with Joseph Pilates
is one I've never heard before.

It is so eloquent,
in this translation
it is easily seen how the quote
could be used on obituary notices.

"It is the soul that builds itself a body."

The Death of Wallenstein
Act II. Scene 1.
A spacious room in the Duke of Friedland's Palace
WALLENSTEIN (in armour).
